Contract awarded for Call request consultant zamnex, within dis geological services 423-1896/2024 Sgu invites submission of tenders regarding the tender request for consultant to zamnex. the assignment consists of, together with sgu's project manager for zamnex, contributing to achieving the results and goals set for sgu and componen1. these are formulated as follows: 1. support zambian authorities in the development and implementation of a national guidance for mine closure plans. 2. conduct a case study to identify barriers and enablers to an effective and efficient mine closure process in zambia. 3. prepare recommendations with the aim of contributing to the development of policies and regulations linked to mine closure in order to achieve these goals and activities with good results and high quality, specific knowledge of the country of zambia, its mining history and governance processes, as well as technical aspects of closing mine areas in accordance with the "integrated mine closure" method is required. the consultant's tasks will include: i. to assist with experience and technical advice in accordance with the work plan for the development of the mine closure plan guidance ii. to assist with expertise and experience in information gathering and interviews with stakeholders in zambia's north west province in accordance with the purpose and objectives of the case study. the consultant must also contribute to the analysis of the information and report preparation. iii. to assist through his expertise and local knowledge in the development and formulation of recommendations to benefit the ongoing policy discussion in zambia regarding the sustainable closure of large-scale mining projects. the assignment is estimated to cover a total of approx. 300 hr during 2025 and 2026, and includes activities such as meetings, planning, travel and expert support to zamnex's zambian partners.
